I’m Keith Holmess, standing for Waikato Regional Council – Waihou Constituency.

Local Government decisions affect us all, especially in our pockets.

Rates cannot keep rising. They add to inflation and make the cost of living (and doing business) unsustainable.

My focus:

Lower rates through efficiency & cost control
Push back on Central Government’s unfunded mandates
RMA reform that balances people, economy, and environment
Better drainage, flood protection & durable infrastructure
Strong accountability & exceptional governance.

I’m a farmer and a community leader. Recent community roles include:

Chair, WRC Land Drainage & Flood Protection Committees
President, Waikato Federated Farmers (2024)
